The Grand Duke Dimitri Pavlovich Romanov was involved in the murder of Rasputin, whom he felt was destroying the reputation of the Romanov dynasty. He was one of the few Romanovs to escape execution by the Bolsheviks after the Russian Revolution of 1917, and afterwards fled to Western Europe.
