A.K. Cheesewright
Science fiction pioneer and blunt-speaking Yorkshireman

A.K. Cheesewright - known to his friends as Bunny - is a pioneer in the field of science fiction (albeit the pulpier kind), having written such staples of the genre as "Hour of the Metal Men". According to Dunning, he came up with the name "The Fantasists" because he has a dreadful weakness for puns. He also has a rather belligerent personality, ensuring that meetings of The Fantasists are never dull.

Cheesewright is played by Phil Rose.

CHEESEWRIGHT QUOTES

"Dialectical variation my backside. I need a beer."

CHEESEWRIGHT FACTS

  • His full name is Archibald Kenneth Cheesewright. He hated being called "Archie" at school and encouraged his friends to call him "Bunny" instead. The reasons why are lost in the mists of time.
  • Cheesewright's other books include 'Star Eaters of Altair,' and 'Sunburst over Megathera.' His last novel, 'Sunset of the Megatheron,' was published posthumously in 1982.
