On October 31st 1937, Professor Dunning made his debut appearance on BBC Television, in conversation with Leslie Mitchell on his well-loved programme, Picture Page. Professor Dunning went on to read from his short story “The Curse of the Cult of Thoth”, a reading that was to go down in broadcasting history, for all the wrong reasons.
